Retire in Burlington

What about outdoor activities such as skiing both downhill and cross country, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, etc. I quickly ran through the photos looking for these kinds of activities. Retirement happens at 50 for some... and many at 65 are still very active. thanks!

Vermont offers plenty of outdoor activities, though most of the ones near Burlington relate to Lake Champlain. There are several ski resorts within an hour's drive of Burlington, however.

+For downhill skiing, Stowe and Killington are widely considered the best in the state. Stowe is less than an hour away, and Killington is about an hour and a half.

+Sugarbush Ski Resort has some of the best cross country skiing, and gives you the option of self-guided or guided paths. Snowshoeing is also an option there

+For snowmobiling, Green Mountain Snowmobiling is one of the best in the area, only about an hour away, and even offers night tours

This site tends to be the best when it comes to finding resources regarding outdoor activities: http://www.voga.org/Vermont_winter_adventures.htm
