When you think of your stereotypical Florida retirement community, St. Augustine may be exactly what you're thinking of. Food

Food Summary

Many of St. Augustine's restaurants are heavily influenced by the city's European roots, and because of that, there is a wide variety of excellent international food to be found. Of course, being a coastal Floridian city, you can also expect fresh, local seafood at establishments all over the city.

Culture

Culture Summary

While many wouldn't think of Florida as a place steeped in culture, St. Augustine is actually the oldest European settlement in the US. Because of this, you may find yourself on a popular tour of the Castillo de San Marcos, or maybe the Mission of Nombre de Dios. The St. Augustine Wild Reserve is a great spot for a glance at tigers, lions, and wolves if you're up for it as well. Overall, we think you'll be surprised about how much cultural richness you'll discover here in St. Augustine.
