Pensacola, FL is a lively Gulf coast city nestled on the border of Florida and Alabama. The city is known for its quiet lifestyle, and lacks the typical mega-resort atmosphere that leaves many retirees desiring an escape from the bigger crowds. Pensacola is home to the Gulf Islands National Seashore, a National Park established in 1971 in order to "preserve for public use and enjoyment certain areas possessing outstanding natural, historic, and recreational values." The area draws visitors and retirees for its white sand beaches, as well as ample boating and fishing. Pensacola is made up of a variety of neighborhoods, with Perdido Key and Gulf Beach Heights being two. Perdido Key sits directly on the Gulf, with a variety of luxury real estate offerings, while Gulf Beach Heights sits North of the key, and provides easy beach acess without all of the hustle and bustle.
