Retire in Auburn

Meet Sherri

Want to know what it's like to retire in Auburn?

After having spent more than thirty years as a chamber of commerce executive in communities within Alabama and Georgia, I am now retired and live in Auburn.

So Sherri, what about Auburn initially appealed to you?

Since I have family here, I have spent ample time in the area and have always loved the lifestyle of Auburn.

What is an aspect of the area that you, or other retirees may dislike?

Since we live in a college town, you do have to look out for twenty-something year-olds who can occasionally drive a bit distracted.

What is an aspect of your daily life in the area that you weren't expecting before you moved?

I never thought that I would become a morning person.   Luckily, with so much to do within the community, I would be doing myself a disservice by waking up late!

If you ever left Auburn, what would you miss the most?

Spending time with friends and family.

What advice would you have for people moving to this community?

Take advantage of all that a university town has to offer. From football games to cultural events, there is always plenty to do even if you're on a tight budget.
